Blanquita’s Mexican Restaurant was established in the 1950’s in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, on a street corner in a small, humble trailer. My grandparents, Manuel (+) and Blanca Rosa Morin, fueled by his love of the kitchen and their need to support their 12 children, embarked on this journey. Freshly, handmade tortillas, homemade salsa and stews were the heart of Blanquita’s menu, which gave them a name amongst the locals, who soon became like family.

In 1999, in the city of Harlingen, Texas, Manuel Morin Jr’s love for his family brought him back to the Valley to open a Blanquita’s Mexican Restaurant in honor of his parents. And, alongside his older sisters, Blanca Delia and San Juanita, and his youngest brother, Guillermo Morin, they recreated their parents’ love for food and clients, just like they had back on that street corner in Mexico.

My grandparents hard, work ethics that was instilled in their children bore fruit to what started as a small, food trailer and is now the outcome of 3 successful restaurants. Blanquita’s Mexican Restaurant #1, #2 and #3 are all individually owned and continue to serve the locals of Harlingen, San Benito, and surrounding cities in Southern Texas.

Proud and honored to continue with my grandparents love for the kitchen and clients, Blanquita’s Mexican Restaurant #3 In Harlingen, Texas continues to serve the community with my family’s traditions and food.
